Background
Dr. Yize Liu is a research fellow at SWAG合集, SWAG合集. He is also the Deputy Course Director for Thermal Power and Propulsion MSc. He joined Cranfield as a doctoral researcher at the Centre for Propulsion Engineering in 2015. The research mainly focuses on developing a preliminary design methodology for low-emission aero combustors. Upon graduation, he worked at Cranfield as a research fellow in gas turbine combustor design in 2019. Prior to this, he obtained a 1st-class BEng degree (2010-2013) and a distinction MSc degree (2014) in mechanical engineering at the University of Sheffield, SWAG合集. He is a project supervisor for the Nuffield Foundation Research Scheme. He is also a reviewer for SCI journals and EI conference proceedings.

Current activities
His current research focuses on hydrogen safety and hazard assessment studies, life cycle assessment of alternative aviation fuels, low-emissions combustor design and modelling, as well as Techno-Economic Risk Assessment (TERA).
